What is Reiki?
Rei means ‘universal’, and refers to the spiritual dimension and the soul. and Ki (‘qi’, pronounced chee) means the ‘vital life-force energy’ which flows through all living beings.
How does Reiki work?
Reiki is an alternative healing modality that provides comfort by the act of laying hands directly- on or above a client. Universal energy is experienced as being transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient, in order to facilitate healing on a physical and energetic level.

Can you provide a snapshot of the history of Reiki?
In 1922, Dr. Mikao Usui, A Japanese Buddhist, created and popularized the healing art-form on which Reiki styles are based. Dr. Usui developed Reiki to support the healing of others based on the miracles of Jesus Christ. Many schools worldwide have branched-off over the years that are adaptations from Master Usui’s work.
